大独裁者

    我觉得，很多艺术方面的东西都不是晦涩的，再高深的想法都可以很简单的表达出来，并且让听众明白。很多搞影评的喜欢挖掘什么深刻的人性，潜在的内涵，并且动辄把一个电影放到历史的高度人类的前途这些层面上来进行定位。翻来覆去，玩弄句式，胡言乱语，自以为是。我的观点是，谁信他们谁完蛋！

    评论一个电影，就直白的讲出哪里好，哪里不好，让读者了解你的观点，对这电影有个宏观感觉，这个影评就是成功的，虽然未必高明。而很多影评的特点就是讲了半天，不知所云，

    每当读到这种东西我都种有要杀了他的冲动。

    大独裁者是最近看了好几遍的一个电影，我特别喜欢反复观看里面的一些经典场景，诸如独裁者高速生活的描写，两个独裁者在一起的一段，以及卓别林发表公众演讲的一大段。

    卓别林的表演非常的到位，完全可以说是激情澎湃，他的神经质的表情，夸张的动作，让人百看不厌，完全不同于普通喜剧片里的让人看一遍想笑看两遍无聊的噱头。听到属下对自己统治控诉时，因为害怕下意识的放下双手，听拿破罗尼（影射墨索里尼的另一独裁者）跟自己玩弄手段讨价还价时狡黠诡诈的眼神，煽动群众时的丰富的表情和动作，卓别林在把海因凯尔（大独裁者，影射希特勒）塑造成喜剧史上最成功的喜剧角色的同时，丝毫没有削弱他作为独裁者的特性。

    本片的配角表现不错。宣传部长伽贝之（音似垃圾garbage，影射纳粹宣传部长戈培尔）表情阴郁，善于迎合独裁者，玩弄手腕，堪称人物原型的再现。而另一个常被提及的女主角，被称为是卓氏作品里仅有的拥有女性自主意识的角色，然而没给我留下什么印象。这可能属于典型的没文化不知害怕。

    此文所提不及影片经典的十分之一，我的观点是一个经典镜头能提升一部影片的地位，照此观点，大独裁者应该有珠峰那么高了。

    总之一部经典，耐看， 满分。

We think too much and feel too little: More than machinery we need humanity; More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost.
The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together. The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness
in men, cries out for universal brotherhood for the unity of us all. Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the world, millions of despairing men, women and little children, victims of a system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people. To those who can hear me I say Do not despair. The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress: the hate of men will pass and dictators die, and the power they took from the people, will return to the people and so long as men die, liberty will never perish...
Soldiers - don't give yourselves to brutes, men who despise you, enslave you - who regiment your lives, tell you what to
do, what to think and what to feel, who drill you, diet you, treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder!
Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men, machine men, with machine minds and machine hearts! You are not machines! You are not cattle! You are men! You have the love of humanity in your hearts. You don't hate - only the unloved hate - the unloved and the unnatural. Soldiers - don't fight for slavery, fight for liberty!
In the seventeenth chapter of Saint Luke it is written the kingdom of God is within man - not one man, nor a group of men - but in all men - in you! You the people have the power, the power to create machines, the power to create happiness! You the people have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure! Then in the name of democracy let us use that power - let us all unite!!! Let us fight for a new world, a decent world that will give men a
chance to work, that will give you the future and old age and security. By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to
power, but they lie! They do not fulfil their promise, they never will! Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people! Now let us fight to fulfil that promise! Let us fight to free the world, to do away with national barriers, to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance! Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men's happiness.

看完卓别林大神的第一部有声电影《大独裁者》，内心久久不能平静，特别是结尾那七分钟的演讲说出了大师在默片中一直想表达的一切，大师的早期作品大部分都是以小人物的故事来反应社会的现状，比如《流浪汉》《狗的生活》《摩登时代》等经典电影。又有像《从军记》那般通过战争军人的生活，来表达对于世界和平的追求，对于自由的向往。以前的作品都是以大师的幽默浮夸的动作来表达，而《大独裁者》是真正从大师口中说内向一直想要的梦想，这或许是电影世上最伟大的演讲吧！又或许是最伟大的一刻，大师庄严的把自己一生中最想表达的东西在七分钟都宣泄出来，这不仅仅是大师一个人的梦想，也是那个时代每个人的梦想。没有战争，世界和平。
        《大独裁者》这部电影是大师和妻子宝玲一起拍摄的，当时为了拍摄这部电影，差点弄的自己倾家荡产，况且拍摄这电影时希特勒还没有死，德国还是在二战占有绝对上分的国家。不得不佩服大师能在这种环境下拍摄一部这么伟大的电影，发表一段这么精彩的演讲。你的演讲打动了我们，你的表演征服了我们，你的电影陪伴了我们，我还能说什么呢！伟大如卓别林。

过去对于卓别林的认识仅限于那个滑稽的流浪汉，觉得他是个幽默的人道主义者，用微笑擦去穷人脸上的泪水。今天看了《大独裁者》，才明白，他是一个真正的理想主义者，一个缔造美好未来的艺术家，一个伟大的造梦者！

下面这一段是他在影片结尾的演说。
不管民主、自由是对是错，他演说中的真诚已经完全打动了我。

那些野兽也就是用这些诺言窃取了权力。
但是，他们是说谎！

独裁者自己享有自由，但是他们使人民沦为奴隶。

"I'm sorry, but I don't want to be an emperor.
That's not my business.
I don't want to rule or conquer anyone.
I should like to help everyone if possible - Jew, Gentile - black man - white.

We all want to help one another.
Human beings are like that.
We want to live by each other's happiness - not by each other's misery.
We don't want to hate and despise one another.
In this world there's room for everyone and the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone.
The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way.
Greed has poisoned men's souls - has barricaded the world with hate - has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed.
We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in.
Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want.
Our knowledge has made us cynical; our cleverness, hard and unkind.
We think too much and feel too little.
More than machinery we need humanity.
More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness.
Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost.

The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together.
The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in man - cries for universal brotherhood - for the unity of us all.
Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the world - millions of despairing men, women, and little children - victims of a system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people.
To those who can hear me, I say: 'Do not despair.'
The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed - the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress.
The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people.
And so long as men die, liberty will never perish.

Soldiers!
Don't give yourselves to brutes - men who despise you and enslave you - who regiment your lives - tell you what to do - what to think and what to feel!
Who drill you - diet you - treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder.
Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men - machine men with machine minds and machine hearts!
You are not machines!
You are not cattle!
You are men!
You have the love of humanity in your hearts.
You don't hate, only the unloved hate - the unloved and the unnatural!

Soldiers!
Don't fight for slavery!
Fight for liberty!
In the seventeenth chapter of St Luke, it is written the kingdom of God is within man not one man nor a group of men, but in all men!
In you! You, the people, have the power - the power to create machines.
The power to create happiness!
You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful - to make this life a wonderful adventure.
Then in the name of democracy - let us use that power - let us all unite. Let us fight for a new world - a decent world that will give men a chance to work - that will give youth a future and old age a security.

By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power.
But they lie!
They do not fulfil that promise.
They never will!
Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people.
Now let us fight to fulfil that promise!
Let us fight to free the world - to do away with national barriers - to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance.
Let us fight for a world of reason - a world where science and progress will lead to all men's happiness.
Soldiers, in the name of democracy, let us unite!

Wherever you are, look up Hannah.
The clouds are lifting!
The sun is breaking through!
We are coming out of the darkness into the light.
We are coming into a new world - a kindlier world, where men will rise above their hate, their greed and their brutality.

The soul of man has been given wings and at last he is beginning to fly.
He is flying into the rainbow - into the light of hope, into the future, the glorious future that belongs to you, to me, and to all of us.
