电影另一个译名叫《诸神的黄昏》，讲述的是巴伐利亚国王路德维希二世的历史故事。本来我观看的目的是为了里面有罗密施奈德（茜茜公主的扮演者）和欧洲美丽的宫廷城堡，但看到后来才发现，原来这位被世人称为“姑娘”的皇帝还是个GAY。

从1864年加冕直到1886年去世,如同一个浪漫的英雄，路德维希二世做了许多惊世骇俗的事情：他将巴伐利亚卖给了德国;他在全国建造了大量令人惊叹的城堡；他是Richard Wagner（瓦格纳）的主要赞助人,却被他出卖；他是一个声名狼藉的遁世者；他爱上了表姐奥地利公主Elisabeth（罗密施奈德演，其实就是茜茜公主，但是一个成熟、美艳有点邪恶的茜茜）却被抛弃，又为自己的同性恋倾向而痛苦，他一步一步陷入疯狂，最后死在了冷冷的施坦恩贝格湖中。

“真挚的爱和深切的仰慕以及温馨的依附感早在我还是孩童时代就已深深埋在我的心中，它使人间变成了天堂，只有死亡才能使我解脱。”---这句他写给茜茜公主的情书里面的话，却冥冥中验印了自己的人生。

作为一国之君，君临天下的人，却也不能活得随心所欲地自由，只能压抑着自己的欲望和情感，来迎合世人的口味。历史上记载在路德维希二世的葬礼上，茜茜公主在他的灵柩前晕倒了。当她又睁开眼睛，可以说话的时候，她坚决要求把国王从棺木中取出来，她说，国王根本就没有死，而是故意这样做，为了在这个世界和他无法忍受的人们面前得到永远的安宁。

历史上皇帝是GAY的案例也不在少数。“断袖之癖”的汉哀帝，“龙阳”的魏王，“余桃”的卫灵公，“安陵”的楚共王，英国的爱德华二世等。这些帝王们的爱情故事被千古流传，但结局却都悲惨。难道真的应了那句话---爱情，原来是含笑饮毒酒。
